**Welsh Sea Rowing Leg – #5milesfromhome 2021 Results**

On behalf of the Welsh Sea Rowing FMFH team and committee of officers a massive thank you and congratulations to all of this year’s WSR #5milesfromhome participants!

We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your photos and stories come in from across four continents this weekend. Thank you again for embracing the #5milesfromhome challenge, the buzz has been amazing and it feels like one big community has come together due to sharing the love of being on the water.

The provisional timed results for each challenge can be accessed via the buttons at the top of this page.

A massive round of applause and pats on the back to everyone!

As you know, the premier award for each leg in the Five Miles From Home Series is the MEDIAN TROPHY. Having combined all times across the four categories, we are delighted to announce that the perpetual Median Trophy is awarded to ‘Broughty Youth’’ from the Broughty Ferry Boating RTYC club in Broughty Ferry near Dundee, Scotland.

This Under 19s all male crew finished rowing on the River Tay with their St Ayles Skiff ‘Brochty” right in the middle of the Welsh Sea Rowing fleet, and may accept this trophy as representatives of the whole fleet. “This is the third outing for the U17 men and also their fastest time yet, what a great group of enthusiastic rowers.”

We think they make great ambassadors for the sport of fixed seat rowing!

We want to pay tribute to the folks at Castle to Crane and Ocean to City for inviting us on board this lovely series, all of us @Welsh Sea Rowing have loved joining in and organising the 3rd and final leg this weekend.

Finally on behalf of all 3 teams of organisers I want to thank everyone who has taken part and contributed to what has turned out to be an amazing set of events, embraced by a great bunch of like minded rowing folk.

Roll on the next series!

  • Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to row in this brilliant series. The lads have so enjoyed the challenge. It takes a lot of enthusiasm to turn up every Sunday morning to row. We are very lucky at broughty ferry boating to have such wonder young rowers. Getting home within the hour again was great but being awarded the median trophy is a fantastic finish to the series.

  • […] Thank you to all those who took part in this international gathering, including our St Ayles communities in Australia, Northern Ireland and Netherlands. Full results available Here: https://www.searowing.wales/…/fivemilesfromhome-wsr…/… […]
