PUFFIN ISLAND TOUR 2021
Beaumaris Rowing Club invites you to take part in a tour around Puffin Island for WSR Celtic Longboats. The crews will row ten miles from the historic town of Beaumaris, along the scenic Menai Strait, around the majestic Puffin Island and back through the challenging Puffin Sound to return to Beaumaris. There will be on-the-water stops (not landing) to watch the birdlife and the seal colony and for a panad.
The Puffin Island Tour will be held on SATURDAY 17th July launching at 10.15 am and then setting off at 10.30 am
Please note that the tour will start on time so that boats can row through Puffin Sound at slack water. Safety boat cover will be provided.
The fleet will be limited to ten boats due to current Covid regulations. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis.
This is a social tour and an opportunity for crews to meet for the first time after a long gap. In fact, no racing is allowed!
After the tour, the RAYC bar will be open for liquid refreshment. (We regret that food cannot be provided on this occasion due to Covid regulations.)
Would clubs please inform Peter Read of the number of people coming and the number of boats taking part by Sunday 11th July to enable safety boats & crews to be arranged.
