Hi all, unfortunately Mayflower Offshore rowing club has had to cancel their Muddy Rubble regatta on Sat 15th August due to the continuing Covid 19 restrictions & following the guidance from BR & the government.
We hope to organize a regatta or social row later in the year if restrictions are relaxed enough for rowing quads & having 50+ people on our site. As you will all appreciate running a regatta takes alot of organising with safety boat coverage, catering & numerous other things so we have made the decision early.
We will however be running a Virtual Muddy Rubble on Saturday 15th August.

Mens quad 8K.
Masters quad 4K. Mixed crew each rower must be 50yrs + (at least 2 ladies)

All races are on a Concept 2 rowing machine. All races are from a standing start, 8K or 4K & must be programmed in. (No rolling starts) Photograph of final time & distance will be needed.
Quad 8K, 4K & Double 4K races are relay. Quad races must have 4 people each doing 2K in the 8K races or 1K in the 4K races & swapping over. Double races must have 2 people each doing 2K & swapping over.
Single races will obviously have 1 person doing 4K.
If a rower is in more than one race they must erg in every race they are entered for. An invidual can race in as many races as they wish & qualify for.
Entries for A, B, C etc crews are encouraged, as at regattas, with virtual medals being given for A, B, C crews within any category.
You could have numerous people using your ergs so please follow BR & government advice & wipe down the equipment with sanitizer wipes & observe social distancing. We recommend you set up your ergs outside if the weather permits.
Please could you enter your crews (via email) as you would for a regatta, with full names & the race they are entering & if you have numerous crews then identify them as A, B or C etc. Entries are free. You will have from 8am – 6pm on Saturday 15th August to send a photograph of your crews times, please clearly identify your club or individual & what race. (if you need extra time please let me know)
In the true spirit of coastal rowing please could you only use your current members, as you would for a regatta, & not draft in a Helen Glover or a James Cracknell. Helen & James are welcome to enter as as mixed double or in the singles!
Please send pictures or videos of your efforts & extra prizes will be given for Best dressed crew or individual & Best endeavours!
