Firstly, a massive thanks to everyone. Every competitor, every helper, every spectator and our hosts The Pengwern Rowing Club, who all contributed to a great days racing on the River Severn on Saturday the 25th of March!
The weather was very kind, but the river was rising, measuring 1.66 metres at the Welsh Bridge, meaning that the flow was pretty strong and a row to the North Pole would indeed be a challenge. All the crews did so well achieving what they did under these conditions.
Post Row, Jayne & Pengwern volunteers laid on a hearty meal to replenish those tired bodies, the well stocked bar helped quench a big thirst, and our own Bruce Orme provided some tunes to dance to till the wee hours, as well as some Bar Olympics. The Shropshire Adventure Rowing Club look forward to seeing you throughout the year and very much hope you will be able to return next year too!
