WSR Survey 2025 Feedback

Thank you to everyone who completed the WSR 2025 Members Survey. We received 71 responses, with the majority of feedback coming from members aged 51+ and strong participation from the North and Mid regions.

Members row primarily for enjoyment, fitness and social connection, with many also motivated by competition. League races are generally viewed as welcoming and appropriately structured, though travel distances, towing requirements and finding full crews remain common barriers to participation.

Most respondents feel race rules are suitable, though some find them complex or inconsistently applied. There is strong support for clearer enforcement and consistent penalties.

Interest in hosting All‑Wales events is positive among clubs with suitable venues, although wider committee engagement remains limited, with only a small number of members expressing interest in joining the committee.

Members highlighted the need for improved communication, clearer event planning, better race etiquette, and enhancements to the WSR website. Overall, the survey reflects a committed and passionate rowing community keen to support continued growth across WSR.
