Beaumaris Rowing Club
Beaumaris Rowing Club will give you a warm welcome! Our members’ ages range up to 80 years of age and more than half of our members are female. And members with disabilities enjoy their rowing.
We are out on the water several times each week throughout the year including the winter in social rows for good company & fitness and in training rows for races. The Menai Strait is such a beautiful stretch of water that we can’t get enough of it!
The Club has four Celtic Longboats and a Teifi Skiff which seats two scullers on fixed seats and a cox.
The rowing programme combines tours and races. There are tours along the length of the Menai Strait, around Puffin Island, up the Conwy River, over to Llanfairfechan. and other destinations in North Wales. We have also toured successfully further afield to Kinsale and the River Thames.
Club crews take part in WSR League races at venues along the Welsh coast, in the Castle to Castle Race along the Menai Strait, the Round Puffin Island Race, the marathon Great River Race in London and the challenging Montford Challenge at Shrewsbury.
The Club’s varied social programme has recently included a middle eastern feast and a pancake night.
