Before affiliation can be accepted for the year starting in April 2024 WSR requires some basic information from your club. This is to enable us to keep the necessary records and to update our information on each club in our database.
As an affiliated member of Welsh Amateur Rowing Association Limited and ultimately Welsh Rowing, WSR must ensure that each of our clubs complies with their regulations. Any amateur rowing club or club that has facilities for rowing, situated in Wales, may be affiliated to the Association on becoming approved by a two-thirds majority of the executive committee of WSR. Each member club thereby binds itself to observe the rules of WSR.
Acceptance is not automatic, we must satisfy ourselves that every club is run in an acceptable way before affiliation can be granted. More details are contained in the following document:
Affiliation FAQs
A. The affiliation to WSR runs from April 1st – March 31st each year.
A. The affiliation fee for 2024-2025 is £149.00. (fee is waivered for 3 years for new clubs, from date of formation).
A. The annual membership fee for an Adult is £15, Junior (under 18) is £6. This covers personal insurance for the individual member.
A. The conditions of affiliation depend on payment of the fees and completion of the documentation required. See list of documents attached below.
A. Once affiliated the club will receive an affiliation certificate for the year. Each member club thereby binds itself to observe the rules of WSR. Please allow 3 – 7 days for the certificate to be issued by the WSR secretary. This will be sent only to the club secretary email address.
A. Every time you update the Membership spreadsheet you must send a copy of this to the WSR Secretary and pay the appropriate fees.
A. You can pay the affiliation fee online with credit or debit card. You can also pay by BACS Transfer or Cheque.
Pay ONLINE – If you fill in the affiliation form below when you click SUBMIT Details to WSR the following screen will allow you the option to pay the affiliation fee by credit or debit card.

A. Yes, the membership page now has a bulk payment option to allow credit or debit card payments. Using this option also means you have a clear record of payments made by your club for membership. Please note you still need to update the membership spreadsheet and send it to the secretary each time you have new members join your club.
