CYC Deganwy Rowing Club

Conway Yacht Club and it’s rowing section, Deganwy Rowers, is nestled in Deganwy Village and helpfully located close to the beach and jetty where we generally launch for rowing.
The club is old and established and well known for their Conway One Design yachts built in the 1920’s and still out there sailing.
The rowing section is relatively new but has grown fast with regular sessions throughout the week and weekend that cater for all. We have a strong women’s section and there is a warm welcome for beginners with taster sessions, so you can try it out to see if its for you.
The club has already joined in local races and taken part in the Great River Race and we’re keen to embrace all aspects of Celtic Longboat rowing.
The location of our launch site means we can row in most tides and conditions which is a strong plus for confident and regular rowing sessions. The Conwy River is an exceptional area for rowing as you glide past local bird sanctuaries and our medieval Conwy castle. It is an amazing back drop as you row under it’s walls.
In addition there a number of members with sculling boats and this is a growing part of the rowing club.

Hi
I’m interested in the rowing section – Celtic Longboats can you give me some information please, you mention taster sessions for beginners. I’m not a complete novice to the water as I’ve paddled sea kayaks and currently own and paddle a 16 ft Canadian prospector.
Thanks
Nick
